Cheadle Hulme Communicare

Thursday, 25 Jun 2015

This little local charity has now been going for over 41 years and all this time it has been helping people in Cheadle Hulme.

It started out with Churches Together in Cheadle Hulme by a group of young mothers. Some of these mums are still with us even though they are now young grandmothers. Initially all sorts of activities were done in the community including shopping, decorating and child minding. Things have changed over the years but we are still helping in this community.

Today we concentrate on helping local people that are unable to use public transport to get to vital appointments. Our team of volunteer drivers and telephonists arrange and take local people to appointments at doctors, dentists, hospitals, opticians etc. Anyone in need can call us and the telephonists will arrange for a named driver to take the client to their appointment. The driver generally waits there and takes them home again afterwards. We provide a door to door service. This is absolutely vital for some people.

If you or someone you know, who lives in Cheadle Hulme, is in need of transport to essential healthcare appointments call us on  and see what our friendly telephonists can do for you.

All we ask for is a small donation to cover our costs, that’s it, no strings attached.

Use us or lose us, we are here for you!

If you wish to volunteer or use our services just give us a call 0161 485 5353 Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 3.30 pm. Hope to hear from you soon.
